Bryce Young Throws at Alabama Pro Day

NFL scouts and coaches got an early look at Alabama quarterback Bryce Young as he threw for Brian Robinson Jr. and Slade Bolden at the schools Pro Day. Young will be in the mix next season to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft.

The California native put up historic numbers in his first season as the starter. He broke the school record for the most passing yards and touchdowns in a starting debut. Young obliterated the schools single-game passing yards record that had stood for 52 years. However, his finest performance of the season came against Georgia in Atlanta, setting SEC championship records for total offense and passing yards.

Young set Alabama single-season records with 4,872 passing yards and 47 touchdowns. He became the first Crimson Tide quarterback to win the Heisman trophy and was named the AP College Football Player of the Year and Sporting News Player of the Year. He also brought home the Maxwell, Davey O’Brien and Manning Awards.

Despite all of the accolades, Young has plenty of things he is working on this offseason.

"[I'm] trying to do a better job of communicating with all my guys and making sure that we're on the same page whenever I'm changing something or there's something that may not be as clear," he said. "And then, of course, now it's a lot about trying to build chemistry, timing with guys around me and making sure that we're all on the same page. And there's a lot of stuff I want to improve on just, you know, the regular stuff of accuracy and all that.

"There's a really long list for me. I feel like there's a lot of stuff once I've gone back and I've looked at the games. I feel like there's a lot of stuff that I can do better and I want to improve on."

The rising junior may not be the biggest quarterback in stature, but his physical and mental traits jump off the charts. His poise, ball placement, athletic ability, maturity and toughness are all at an elite level.
