WATCH: Alabama Arrive at Georgia Dome Ahead of SEC Championship Game

ATLANTA – The Georgia Dome has become something of a second home for Alabama in recent seasons.

Two hours before Saturday’s 3 p.m. CT kickoff against Florida in the SEC Championship Game, Alabama arrived at the domed stadium to play in the title game for a record eighth time.

Alabama coach Nick Saban, followed by the rest of the coaching staff, led the way toward the locker room, with players and a few other staffers mostly bringing up the rear.

The players, dressed in business professional attire with many also wearing headphones to listen to music, mostly looked on straight faced and did not speak; however, senior linebacker Reggie Ragland (0:41 mark) was an exception to that, singing aloud as he bobbed his head to his music.

Alabama owns a 3-4 all-time record against Florida in the SEC Championship Game, dating back to the inaugural game at Legion Field in Birmingham in 1992. The Crimson Tide won that debut game, before falling the following year to the Gators. In 1994, the SEC Championship Game moved to the Georgia Dome, where it’s been played ever since.

Since 2008, Alabama has played at the Georgia Dome eight times, posting a 7-1 record in those games. Its lone loss came in the 2008 SEC Championship Game against the Gators, a 31-20 decision.

With a win, No. 2 Alabama (11-1, 7-1 SEC), playing in its 10th SEC Championship Game, would likely earn a berth as one of the final four teams selected for the College Football Playoff and become the first repeat SEC conference champion since Tennessee did it in 1997 and 1998. Last season, the Crimson Tide defeated Missouri, 42-13, before entering the inaugural College Football Playoff as the top seed.

UPDATE: Alabama pulled away in the second half to beat Florida, 29-15, and win its 25th SEC championship.
