Top Five Finalists for the 2015 Bacon & Brewfest People’s Choice Award

The thing that makes our Bacon & Brewfest stand out from other beer festivals is the inclusion of area restaurants and their bacon inspired creations!

Last year we gave out the first 'People's Choice Award' to Brothers Express Pizza Cafe for their Salted Caramel Bacon Gelato. This year they brought it back to let patrons check out last year's winning dish but also added a bacon pizza into the mix!

Each Bacon & Brewfest ticket holder was given a red ticket and told to put it into the box on the table of the restaurant they thought had the best dish. Here are the top five finalists from Saturday's event, in no particular order:

• Billy's Sports Grill - Brown Sugar Bacon Wrapped Beignets
• Taste Buds - Bacon Wrapped Onion Rings and Beer Candied Bacon
• The Levee - Deep Fried Pimento Cheese and Bacon Balls
• Avenue Pub - Spicy Jalapeno Cheese Dip
• Brothers Pizza - Bacon Pizza

Which area restaurant had the dish with the most votes? Unfortunately you'll have to wait until we count all of the tickets and make the official announcement on Thursday.
