He's been one of the most talented golfers in the country during his time at The Capstone, and Robby Shelton has been yet again named to college golf's most prestigious award watch list.

The junior from Wilmer, AL has been a staple for head coach Jay Seawell's squad over the past two seasons. Last season, Shelton was named as the #7 golfer in the nation according to the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings and was named as a PING All-American for the second season in a row. During his freshman season, he was awarded the Phil Mickelson Award for the best freshman of the year and also tied for 3rd in the NCAA Tournament, the highest finish ever for a Crimson Tide men's golfer.

Over his career, Shelton has had 64 of his 69 played rounds count for the team, and he has boasted an incredible -.81 average to par, the best average in Alabama golf history. He follows in the footsteps of some great Tide golfers to be named to the Ben Hogan Award list, including Justin Thomas, Bobby Wyatt, Trey Mullinax, Bud Cauley, Michael Thompson, Cory Whitsett, and Marten Olander, the only Alabama player to ever win the award.
