SEC Paying Out Record $455 Million to Member Schools

Southeastern Conference commissioner Mike Slive will be doling out quite the parting gift as he finishes up the final few days of his tenure. 

According to Brett McMurphy of ESPN, the SEC will be distributing a $435 million of an NCAA record $455 million in revenues for the 2014-15 fiscal year. That breaks down to $31.07 million for each of the 14 member institutions, which is more than a 50% increase from last year's $20.9 million payout.

As expected, the conference has the new SEC Network to thank for the majority of that new money along with the College Football Playoff.

By comparison, the Big Ten distributed $338.9 million a year ago and the Big 12 is expected to distribute around $250 million this year, according to ESPN.
