It was warm. It was muddy. It was insane. But most of all, it was an absolute blast to take part in the Insane Inflatable 5K this past Saturday!

I woke up Saturday morning ready to run. I had ran 5K's before, but it's been a few years since my last one, so along with excitement, I felt quite a bit of anxiety before the sun came up; pretty much only worried if I would pass out somewhere in the middle of the course.

Sounding the alarm bright and early at 9:00, I began my venture to completing my first 5K in quite some time, and boy, after the first mile and first 3 obstacles, I found myself needing a walk break.

My grandparents and parents constantly joked when I was younger about when they were kids, having to walk to school everyday, uphill both ways. I'm not lying when I say that the first mile of the 3.1 mile trek was all uphill. I didn't know we would be climbing Mt. Everest.

Anyway, long story short, I made it across the finish line in some amount of time (honestly, I don't want to know exactly how long it took), and only lost the hat on top of my head twice, which sounds like a win for me.

It was a blast, and there isn't anyone in this world that is going to convince me not to run in the 2016 rendition of the Insane Inflatable 5K, and I highly recommend you run in it as well. But if it is going to be at the beautiful Griffin Farms Pumpkin Patch again next year, I'm calling for a landscaping company to swing by a few days before and flatten it out... or just make it all downhill. Downhill is good, too.
