Alabama senior linebacker Trey DePriest will miss Saturday's season opener against West Virginia due to a "minor NCAA infraction," UA coach Nick Saban announced at his Wednesday press conference.

"He will be available to play next week against Florida Atlantic. This is a one-game deal," Saban said.

DePriest, a two-year starter and one of the most experienced players on the Crimson Tide's defense, missed a significant portion of fall camp due to a nagging knee injury.

Starting in his place will be sophomore Reuben Foster, who will be paired with another new starter, Reggie Ragland, at inside linebacker, Saban said. Dillon Lee and Shaun Dion Hamilton will be the backups behind Foster and Ragland at inside linebacker.

"We’re not too much worried about it," outside linebacker Denzel Devall said. "We leave that up to the coaches. But we have great personnel, great players, so we’re going to be ready come Saturday."

DePriest, a senior, was named as a preseason first-team All-SEC selection last week. As a junior in 2013, DePriest made 65 tackles (31 solo), two sacks and an interception.
