Senior Levi Randolph scored 14 of Alabama’s final 23 points and contributed a season-high 28 total points to help lead the Crimson Tide to a 76-71 victory over Arizona State on Tuesday evening in the CBE Hall of Fame Classic. With the win, Alabama improves to 4-1 on the season.

Junior guard Ricky Tarrant was second on the team in scoring with 21 points while going 4-of-7 from behind the three-point line. The 20-plus points from Randolph and Tarrant marked the first time since Nov. 19, 2013, that Alabama had two 20-plus point scorers in the same game. In that game, Nick Jacobs contributed 23 while Trevor Releford added 21 in a triple-overtime game with Drexel. Tarrant and Randolph took control in the end, combining to score the Crimson Tide’s final 23 points on the night.

Alabama scored more than a third of its points from the foul line, owning a significant advantage at the charity stripe as they shot 90 percent (26-of-29) while Arizona State shot only 58 percent (14-of-24). Randolph was flawless from the free-throw line again, going 10-of-10 and sits at a perfect 35-of-35 on the year

Alabama trailed 30-27 at halftime after getting off to slow start offensively, shooting only 29 percent in the first half. The Crimson Tide was able to stay in the game, though, forcing seven turnovers, blocking three shots, and converting 8-of-10 opportunities from the line. The second half was a different story for the Tide as the team shot 59 percent (13-of-22) from the field and outscored the Sun Devils 49-41 for the half. At the 9:40 mark, Alabama went on a 10-0 run to earn its first lead of the second half at 49-47 with 8:07 left to play.

No team had a significant advantage as the two squads were near even on the night, resulting in 10 ties and nine lead changes throughout the game. Alabama would deliver the final blow, taking the lead for good at 66-65 on a made Tarrant three-point shot with 2:34 left.

The win breaks a streak of 17 straight losses outside of Coleman Coliseum and is the first road victory for Alabama since the Tide beat Tennessee, 58-48, in the SEC Tournament on March 15, 2013.

Alabama will return to action when the Tide plays host to South Florida on Tuesday, Dec. 2 inside Coleman Coliseum. UA and USF will tip off at 8 p.m. CT with the game airing on the SEC Network.
