Former Tide QB John Parker Wilson joined Aaron Suttles on The Suttles Approach to discuss the upcoming football season, and give some insight on the Alabama quarterback situation.

Wilson came to The Capstone in 2005, but started during his sophomore season in 2006, and continued to be the starter until the 2008 season. After his final season in Tuscaloosa, he was the holder of many significant Alabama passing records. While his job was never in immediate jeopardy during his career, his experience as a quarterback at the University of Alabama is an interesting well for us to draw information from, and he gave his thoughts on this season's quarterback battle.

"I think the biggest thing you can do right now is just have the other guys in the locker room know you have their back, know that you're out there working hard, know that you're doing everything you can right now to prepare for training camp."

Cooper Bateman, according to many, is the odds on favorite to win the starting job for the Tide. Suttles asked Wilson his thoughts on the junior from Utah, and he said that Bateman's experience (albeit not much experience) will benefit him when it comes down to crunch time.

"I think he kinda came out last year and showed that he can handle the situation. There was a lot of turmoil at the beginning of the season where he was getting ready to play, Coker was getting ready to play. So he's been in that situation, he knows what it's like."
