The Alabama coaching search got a quick break from the Gregg Marshall watch on Tuesday when the Star Tribune reported that the university has expressed interest in Minnesota's Richard Pitino.

As you see in the report, there's very little information beyond that.

Pitino, 32, just finished his second season as head coach of the Gophers, where he's seen mixed results. Minnesota won 25 games and the NIT Championship in 2014, but finished this season with a 7-13 record after non-conference play ended.

Alabama AD Bill Battle spent most of Monday meeting with Wichita State's Gregg Marshall, but left Kansas without an answer. He remains the top candidate as the Crimson Tide looks to replace Anthony Grant.
