It didn't make a difference in this game, and it shouldn't for next week's game, either.

Cornerback Eddie Jackson (quadriceps), running back T.J. Yeldon (hamstring) and outside linebacker Denzel Devall (shoulder) all missed time in the second half against Southern Miss on Saturday due to injures suffered during the game.

But Alabama coach Nick Saban said that the injuries for all three Alabama starters are minor and shouldn't affect their status in next week's Southeastern Conference opener against Florida. After listing each player's injury individually in his postgame press conference, he repeated the following: "I don't think it's anything serious."

"We just chose to not play the guys anymore in this particular game," Saban said. "It gives other people an opportunity to play. Why put the guys at risk when you’re getting ready to head into league play starting next week?"

Safety Nick Perry will be out for the first half against the Gators because he was ejected for targeting during the second half. Defensive back Jarrick Williams is also expected to miss the game with a Jones fracture in his left foot.

Wide receiver DeAndrew White (shoulder) did not play against the Golden Eagles but did participate in warm-ups. White separated his shoulder in the season opener against West Virginia -- an injury Saban said would take two weeks to heal after it occurred.

"DeAndrew White did (participate) in pre-game warm-ups," Saban said. "I wanted him to work out today in pads, which he has been doing for several days this week. We are hopeful that we will get him back next week."

Yeldon finished with 56 yards on nine carries. Jackson, who returned to game action for the first time since tearing his ACL in the spring last week against Florida Atlantic, recorded one tackle.

Devall did not record any stats against Southern Miss. He has four tackles in three starts this season.
