Former Alabama men’s golf standouts Bud Cauley and Justin Thomas officially earned their PGA Tour card for the 2014-15 season following the conclusion of the 2014 Web.com Tour.

Cauley (4th) and Thomas (5th) each finished in the top five in the priority points standings, which is based on performance and earnings during the Web.com Tour. In all, 50 players from the Web.com Tour earned their PGA Tour Card.

Cauley, who played in 19 events on the PGA Tour in 2014, secured his PGA card with a victory at the Hotel Fitness Championship – one of three events he played on this year’s Web.com Tour. Cauley finished the PGA season with four top-25 finishes, including a career-best fourth-place result at the Greenbrier Classic in July.

Thomas is one of 24 first-time members of the PGA Tour after a stellar rookie season on the Web.com Tour. Thomas finished third on the money list, finishing among the top 25 13 times and top 10 seven times in the 18 tournaments in which he made the cut. He also captured the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship on Sept. 14 with a 6-under 278.

The duo joins Jason Bohn, Michael Thompson and Dicky Pride as former Alabama Crimson Tide golfers who are playing on the PGA Tour.

The 2014-15 PGA Tour season begins in less than three weeks (Oct. 9-12) at the Frys.com Open in California.
