Former All-American DB to be Honored

Former Alabama cornerback Antonio Langham has been selected as part of the 2024 College Football Hall of Fame class, the National Football Foundation announced Monday.'

A two-time All-American at Alabama, Langham is one of 19 players and three coaches that are included on the 2024 list of inductees. He is the 23^rd player in Alabama history to be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.

A native of Town Creek, Ala., Langham was a star corner for the Crimson Tide from 1990-93. He finished his four-year career at the Capstone with 141 tackles and a program-high 19 interceptions.
Langham helped Alabama to 40 wins over four seasons, including two SEC Western Division Championships, one SEC Championship and one national title and was named the inaugural SEC Championship Most Valuable Player in 1992 after his pick six helped beat Florida.
Langham became UA’s first winner of the Thorpe Award in 1993, an honor that goes to the nation’s top defensive back. He was selected as a first team All-American in 1992 and 1993 while earning unanimous honors during the ’93 campaign.
He also garnered first team All-SEC accolades in 1992 and 1993 to go with second-team recognition as a sophomore in 1991 and went on to play seven years in the National Football League after being selected in the first round (ninth overall) by the Cleveland Browns in the 1994 NFL Draft. One of his assistant coaches at Cleveland was Nick Saban.
He made the 1994 NFL All-Rookie Team after starting all 16 games for the Browns and totaling 61 tackles, a forced fumble, one fumble recovery and two interceptions in his first season.
Laggham was elected to the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame in 2019.
The 2024 class will be officially inducted during the 66^th NFF Annual Awards Dinner on Dec. 10, 2024 in Las Vegas. The inductees will also be recognized at their respective collegiate institutions with NFF Hall of Fame On-Campus Salutes during the fall. Their accomplishments will forever be immortalized at the Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta.
