Field of Dreams Game Reportedly Headed to Alabama
Is Major League Baseball's Field of Dreams Game headed to Alabama?
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the San Francisco Giants will take on the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2024 Field of Dreams Game and anticipates it to be played at Rickwood Field in Birmingham, Ala.
MLB started the game in 2021 in honor of the iconic baseball movie Field of Dreams and have held the event in Dyersville, Iowa, near where the movie was filmed.
In the inaugural game, the Chicago White Sox defeated the New York Yankees 9-8. Tuscaloosa native Tim Anderson won the game for the White Sox after hitting a walk-off two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning.
In the 2022 game, the Chicago Cubs defeated the Cincinnati Reds 4-2.
There will not be a game in 2023 due to construction on the ballpark in Iowa, according to Bleacher Report.
