Ex-Alabama Players To Join Team on Title Game Sideline

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Alabama will have a few noticeable faces on its sideline during Monday night's College Football Playoff National Championship at University of Phoenix Stadium.

Thirteen former Alabama players will stand amongst current players, coaches and personnel when the Crimson Tide plays for its fourth national title in seven seasons against No. 1 Clemson.

James Carpenter (New York Jets), Landon Collins (New York Giants), Amari Cooper (Oakland Raiders), Marcell Dareus (Buffalo Bills), D.J. Fluker (Chargers), Mark Ingram (New Orleans Saints), Rashad Johnson (Arizona Cardinals), Julio Jones (Atlanta Falcons), C.J. Mosley (Baltimore Ravens), DeMeco Ryans (Philadelphia Eagles), Carson Tinker (Jacksonville Jaguars) and Ed Stinson (Arizona Cardinals) and DeAndrew White (San Francisco 49ers) will all be present at the game to cheer on their old team, according to a UA release Sunday night.

Notably, Ingram, who won the Heisman Trophy and national championship in 2009 at Alabama, will be the team's College Football Playoff honorary captain.

Cooper, who would have been a senior on this year's Alabama team had he not given up his final season of eligibility to declare early for the NFL Draft, even went as far as to provide the entire team with Beats headphones Saturday evening. The gifts were accompanied with a note reading, "Finish strong. Beat Clemson!"
