On Saturday, Amari Cooper caught a school record-tying 13 passes, 189 yards and one touchdown in Alabama’s 41-0 weather-shortened win over Florida Atlantic.

On Monday, he was one of eight Crimson Tide players named as one of the coaching staff’s players of the week.

The other offensive players selected were wide receiver Christion Jones and fullback Jalston Fowler.

Jones caught two passes for 52 yards and also set up Cooper’s 52-yard touchdown with a key block along the sideline. Fowler was recognized for the second time this season again for his blocking. He also caught a three-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter.

Defensively, cornerback Eddie Jackson (four tackles, one tackle for loss, forced fumble) and defensive end Jonathan Allen (two tackles, one for loss) were selected. For Jackson, it was his first game back in the lineup after tearing his ACL during spring practice. For Allen, it was his second selection of the season.

Kicker Adam Griffith was picked for the second time this season, as was cornerback Cyrus Jones (last week on defense) on special teams. Griffith connected on both of his field goal attempts in the game and Jones had a 70-yard punt return, along with three tackles and a forced fumble. Running back Kenyan Drake was the third selection on special teams after making a key stop inside the 20 on kickoff coverage. He also led the team with 45 rushing yards and caught a 39-yard touchdown pass.
