Longtime defensive line and assistant coach Bo Davis has officially resigned from the University of Alabama, per a statement from head coach Nick Saban.

On Thursday, it was reported by TideSports.com that Davis would be let go of his responsibilities because of recent recruiting violations.

Davis has been a staple for head coach Nick Saban over the years, assisting him while at LSU, for the Miami Dolphins, and also came to Tuscaloosa in 2007 when he took over the helm for the University of Alabama.

In 2010, Davis left Alabama to head to Austin, TX to coach Texas' defensive line for three years. In 2014, he returned to coach for Nick Saban and the University of Alabama.

Saban released a statement on the resignation of Davis earlier today.

“Bo Davis has submitted his letter of resignation. We appreciate all the contributions he made to the program and wish him and his family the very best in the future.”
