It would sound redundant if we said that last weekend was craziest weekend we have seen in the SEC so far this season.

The craziness last weekend did manage to change the overall outlook of the SEC for the rest of the year. Here is a quick recap just in case you missed any of the action:

  • Despite inclement weather, Alabama reasserted its dominance by taking down Georgia, 38-10.
  • Florida has once again entered the national spotlight after beating Ole Miss, 38-10.
  • Texas A&M jumped on top of Mississippi State early and managed to hold on to a 30-17 win.
  • South Carolina's recent decline continued after falling to Missouri on the road, 24-10.
  • Arkansas grabbed its first SEC win of the year with a 24-20 win over Tennessee.

Week six in the SEC appears to be what one may call a 'slow week', but there's no such thing in this conference.

Here are the top three games to keep an eye on in the SEC this week.

  • #19 Georgia at Tennessee

    2:30 pm CT on CBS

If anything, Georgia and Tennessee will be looking for a win in order to regain some lost confidence. Both teams were favorites to win the SEC East in the preseason but enter this game off losses.

Georgia's loss to Alabama last week really changed the country's perception of the Bulldogs. A convincing win over Tennessee would help Mark Richt's team regain some confidence and momentum. Nick Chubb's 8.19 yards per carry is the team's first ray of hope towards redemption. The key will be finding more consistency in the passing game.

Tennessee has also faced criticism after a slow start to the season. The Vols have lost two in a row and both losses were decided by a combined five points. A win over Georgia would do wonders for this team's confidence, and they certainly have the talent to win. Tennessee will become a serious threat in the conference as soon as it utilizes that talent for all four quarters.

This game could go a long way in determining who will represent the East division in the SEC Championship. Both teams have talented running backs and offensive weapons that can score in a hurry. Defense will be the most important factor in this ball game.

  • Arkansas at #8 Alabama

    6:00 pm CT on ESPN

Any doubts regarding Alabama's validity were left on the wet, muddy field inside Sanford Stadium. The Crimson Tide returns home this weekend to face Arkansas. The Razorbacks have had a disappointing season, but they do not need to be overlooked.

Confidence has slowly started to build in Fayetteville after Arkansas forced Texas A&M into overtime and beat Tennessee on the road. The Razorbacks are ranked last in the SEC in passing defense, which is one problem you cannot afford to have in the era of the spread. The Razorbacks could be deadly if they correct the issue because they are the only team in the conference with a top five passer and rusher.

Alabama may be back on the right track, but that is also a dangerous place to be. The Crimson Tide has to play with a huge target on its back, and it will get the best out of every opponent it faces this season. We know Nick Saban's stifling defense will get them through the hard times, but Saturday's game against Georgia also proved that the offense may also be alright in the hands of Jake Coker.

Arkansas was a team that had the potential to shock everyone this season. The Razorbacks have failed to meet those expectations but all would be forgotten with a win on Saturday. However, beating Alabama is much easier said than done.

  • #11 Florida at Missouri

6:30 pm CT on the SEC Network

Florida has quickly and swiftly proven that they are potential playoff contenders. The Gators are on one of the nation's biggest hot streaks, but they will face a hostile environment on Saturday. The question is whether or not Missouri has the firepower to pull off the upset.

The Tigers certainly have enough weapons on defense to slow down Will Grier and company. Missouri has the best total defense in the SEC, and linebacker Kentrell Brothers leads the conference in tackles (59). The question marks are on offense where the Tigers are ranked last statistically. Maty Mauk is out again, so it will be up to true freshman Drew Lock to lead the team to victory.

Florida's defensive line is probably foaming at the mouth at the thought of facing a true freshman quarterback. The Gator's defense has 18 sacks on the year with defensive linemen Jonathan Bullard and Alex McCalister accounting for over half of those. The offense should contribute as well seeing that it's averaging over 256 passing yards per game. The last time a Florida offense put up those numbers? 2007 with Tim Tebow.

The Gators did a good job of scoring on Ole Miss' defense last week, so it will be interesting to see if they can do it to another solid defense this week. Missouri has a chance if they can find consistency with Lock, but it could also be a long day for the Tigers if they cannot string together drives.
