The wait is over. College football is upon us.

No longer will you need to watch highlights from last season to hold you over. No longer will you have to read unreliable media predictions. No longer will you have to rely on offseason drama to keep you entertained.

The top questions surrounding the SEC and the rest of country will finally be answered. Who will be Alabama's starting quarterback? Is this the year Mark Richt takes Georgia to the National Championship? Is Tennessee a legit contender in the SEC East?

Those questions and a lot more will be answered over time, but the first week always gives us our first indication for how the season will play out.

Most SEC teams are easing into the start of a new season by playing a softer opponent, but some SEC schools are looking to set the pace early with a big victory.

There is never a slow week in college football much less the SEC, so Tide991.com will break down the top three SEC games to watch every Saturday.

Here are the top three games to watch this week:

  • #3 Alabama vs. #20 Wisconsin

    7:00 pm CT on ABC

You would be hard pressed to find a college football fan that won't flip the channel to the AdvoCare Classic this weekend. A good majority of these fans will be tuning in out of sheer curiosity.

Alabama will debut a slew of new faces on offense with the most intriguing of these being the new starting quarterback(s). The long awaited answer behind the Tide quarterback mystery will finally be revealed on Saturday. However, Nick Saban will still rely on players like Derrick Henry and Kenyan Drake to help pick up any slack in the game.

Meanwhile, there was very little mystery behind Wisconsin's quarterback battle. New head coach Paul Chryst went with experience by naming Joel Stave as the team's starter. Chryst's primary focus should be to keep the Badgers' ground and pound game alive behind running back Corey Clement.

The Tide's uncertainties on offense lead us to believe that Saturday's matchup will ultimately be between Wisconsin's offense and Alabama's defense. Saban knows that success on defense will alleviate some pressure and allow his new quarterback to get off to a good start. However, the Badgers will not lay down lightly, and Chryst is going to feed the ball repeatedly until the Tide stops him.

  • #6 Auburn vs. Louisville

    2:30 pm CT on CBS

Bobby Petrino is getting ready to face Auburn for the first time since 2011. In that game, Petrino was coaching a top-10 ranked Arkansas, and the Razorbacks defeated the Tigers, 38-14.

Petrino is with a new team, but he will still rely on the same offensive schemes he used in 2011. Louisville will be looking to improve on last year's offensive numbers, which is possible with the return of the team's leading rusher and passer from 2014. It will still ultimately come down to how well the defense performs against Gus Malzahn's intricate offense.

We feel safe saying that Malzahn's offense will be the biggest factor in the game. New quarterback Jeremy Johnson has already drawn comparison's to Cam Newton. The Tigers also have a stable of talented running backs that will combine for some impressive numbers. On defense, new coordinator Will Muschamp inherited a solid defensive front and linebacking corps.

It should go without saying that there will be plenty of motivation on both sides. Petrino would like nothing more than to start out the season with a win over a top ranked SEC team. Malzahn was Auburn's offensive coordinator during the 2011, so he will look forward reintroducing his potent offense to Petrino.

  • #15 Arizona State vs. Texas A&M

    6:00 pm CT on ESPN

Associated Press voters apparently need Texas A&M to back up their hype because, despite his success as a head coach, the Aggies have only been ranked in the preseason polls twice during the Kevin Sumlin era.

AP voters are likely searching for consistency. The Aggies opened up the 2014 season with a 52-28 win over South Carolina before going 2-5 in their last seven games. This season should be different. They return one of the best wide receiving corps in the country and experienced quarterback Kyle Allen. The level of talent on offense plays right into Sumlin's wheelhouse.

Arizona State is also equipped with a high level of talent. The Sun Devils return 16 starters from last year's 10-3 team with nine of those starters coming from the defense alone. They, too, will rely on a talented wide receiving corps and quarterback, but the returning experience on defense will be their best asset in this matchup.

This may be one of the more evenly matched games of the weekend. The Aggies have struggled on defense in recent years, but the hiring of John Chavis should help end those woes. Meanwhile, the Sun Devils' experience will give them a chance to take down an SEC school.
