Mick is the voice of the Alabama women’s basketball, County High football, and Tennessee Smokies. A native of Baltimore, Maryland Gillispie began broadcasting for Alabama Public radio before becoming an on air personality and producer at the University of Alabama student radio station while obtaining his degree. Upon graduation, Gillispie has broadcast minor league baseball throughout the southeast, including his current position with the Tennessee Smokies, the Double-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. In addition to his duties with the Smokies, Gillispie broadcasts Chicago Cubs spring training baseball with veteran Cubs television personality Len Kasper on Cubs.com Gillispie was named the 2010 Southern League Broadcaster of the Year.
