Appearing in court today is Markale Hart, the man suspected of fatally shooting Auburn football player Jakell Lenard Mitchell. Markale was already on probation for separate crimes before the murder following a late-night party argument at the Tiger Lodge Apartments in Auburn.

According to the court affidavit, witnesses say that 22-year-old Markale Hart shot and killed 18-year-old after Mitchell became involved in an altercation with an associate of Hart's. Hart then fled the scene prior to the police arriving.

When police arrived to the scene, they found Mitchell in a vehicle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to East Alabama Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
