Cold temperatures and the strong possibility of snow accumulation has caused Wednesday's Alabama softball game with Jacksonville State to be canceled.

The mid-week game, which was supposed to begin at 5:00 PM/CT, could be played at a later date but those discussions haven't taken place. Meteorologist James Spann is calling for as much as four inches of snow in parts of Tuscaloosa County on Wednesday. The University of Alabama, along with the other area schools, have already postponed classes in anticipation of weather issues.

This is the second cancelled game of the season for the Crimson Tide. Just a week ago, cold weather prevented the team from playing UAB in Birmingham.

Alabama returns to Rhoads Stadium this weekend with an important series against Louisiana, which you can hear on 95.3 the Bear.
