Along with losing shortstop Mikey White to the MLB Draft, the Alabama baseball program will be without one of its top signees from the 2015 class. Pitcher Mike Nikorak will forego his collegiate career after being selected in the first round by the Colorado Rockies.

As the 27th overall pick, the 6'5", 225-pound flamethrower will likely receive a signing bonus in the neighborhood of $2 million. Last year's 27th pick signed with the Cardinals for $1.843 million.

The loss is a big one for Mitch Gaspard's Crimson Tide team. Nikorak possesses the best fastball in the 2015 class, hitting 97 mph on the radar gun. His perfect 8-0 record for Stroudsburg earned him All-USA First Team honors, while the MLB Network rated him the #15 overall prospect in the draft.

Gaspard wished him well on Twitter after he was selected.

The Alabama baseball team will also be without Mikey White in 2016. He was selected 63rd overall by the Oakland Athletics.
