Alabama practiced for the final time in front of the media on Wednesday before heading to Atlanta for its season opener against West Virginia.

For the fourth consecutive practice, the Crimson Tide practiced inside at the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility to match the playing conditions of the Georgia Dome, the location of Saturday's game against the Mountaineers.

Observations:

- The same first-team offensive line of Cam Robinson, Arie Kouandjio, Ryan Kelly, Alphonse Taylor and Austin Shepherd led the way. When going with unbalanced fronts, Grant Hill was positioned to the left of Robinson and Leon Brown to the right of Shepherd.

- Quarterback Blake Sims threw first in passing drills ahead of Jake Coker. The starting quarterback job could still go either way at this point.

- Elisha Shaw, an Alabama recruit who become an unofficial member of the Crimson Tide's 2014 class after a neck injury ended his playing days, was seen on the sideline talking to an Alabama coach. Despite his career-ending injury, Shaw was promised normal access inside and around the program. Shaw has said he would like to pursue coaching.

- Tight end Kurt Freitag (toe) is still sitting out of practice due to injury. He is the only current player not practicing.

- Players wore helmets, shoulder pads and shorts in practice. In the last three practices, they wore full pads.

Next:

Nick Saban and select players will speak to the media after practice for the last time this week until post-game of Saturday's contest.
