Alabama continued its practice preparation Wednesday ahead of its first true road game at Ole Miss. The Crimson Tide worked outside in full pads for the third straight day.

Observations:

- Quarterback Blake Sims (shoulder) threw passes during the media-viewing session of practice for the first time this week but was still limited. Sims only threw part of the time and was last quarterback in line when doing so. Alabama coach Nick Saban said that Sims “hasn’t had any issues this week” throwing the football during his SEC coaches teleconference Wednesday morning.

- Wide receiver DeAndrew White (foot, shoulder) was also still limited in practice Wednesday. It’s unknown which injury White is currently dealing with at this time. When Sims did throw, it was a relatively soft throw to White.

- Running back Tyren Jones remains absent from practice, like because of an undisclosed injury. Jones wore a black, non-contact jersey all of last week during the bye but has not been seen in practice since. Saban previously said that Jones would be “day-to-day” this week.

- Sophomore offensive lineman Grant Hill was also not seen at practice for the third time this week. Saban has not given a reason for Hill’s absence. Hill has primarily worked as the second-team left or right tackle in practices this season.

- Sophomore cornerback Eddie Jackson (quadriceps, knee) and senior defensive back Jarrick Williams (foot) were not limited in coverage and tackling drills. Jackson is currently battling with true freshman Tony Brown at one of the two starting corner positions, opposite Cyrus Jones.

Saban and selected players will speak to the media after practice at 6 p.m.
