At the beginning of the season, several Alabama players were placed on preseason watch lists for different individual awards given out to college football players at the end of the regular season.  Since then, some players have regressed, others have improved enough to be added to consideration, and some are right where we expected them to be.  We've reached the point in the season when these awards begin to narrow their lists and announce semifinalists and finalists.  With that said, here are the Alabama players currently listed as contenders for various individual awards this season.

Maxwell Award (Player of the Year)
Amari Cooper (semifinalist)- only WR on list

Walter Camp Player of the Year
Amari Cooper (semifinalist)
Blake Sims (semifinalist)

Chuck Bednarik Award (Defensive Player of the Year)
Landon Collins (semifinalist)

Biletnikoff Award (Best Receiver)
Amari Cooper (semifinalist)

Bronko Nagurski Award (Defensive Player of the Year)
Landon Collins (finalist)

Davey O'Brien Award (Best Quarterback)

Jim Thorpe Award (Best Defensive Back)

The Heisman Trophy, without question the most prestigious individual award in college football, will not announce semifinalists and finalists during the season.  After Championship Weekend (SEC, Big Ten, PAC-12 and ACC Champ games), they will announce which 3-6 players are invited to the ceremony in New York.
