The Alabama Crimson Tide claimed the 4-3 win on Saturday night to clinch the doubleheader sweep and earn the series win over the seventh-ranked LSU Tigers. The series victory is Alabama’s first series win in Baton Rouge since 1996.

The Crimson Tide was once again led in hitting by Will Haynie with the catcher going 2-for-4 with a home run, RBI and run scored. Also adding one RBI apiece to the Tide’s effort was Keith Holcombe, Cobie Vance and Chance Vincent.

The Alabama pitching effort was highlighted by starter Jake Walters (2-2), who went 5.2 innings and allowed one earned run on seven hits and a walk with three strikeouts to earn his second win of the year. He was followed by the trio of Dylan Duarte, Sam Finnerty and Matt Foster with Foster throwing the ninth for his first save of the year.

Alabama will go for the sweep of LSU tomorrow at 1 p.m. The Crimson Tide will look to junior right-hander Nick Eicholtz while the Tigers will counter with senior lefty John Valek III. The game can be seen live on SECN+.
