The Alabama men's basketball team avoided what would have been an embarrassing defeat when a late tip-in from Rodney Cooper gave them a 57-55 victory over the Auburn Tigers Saturday night.

The Crimson Tide have little time to celebrate as they turn around quickly to face the Florida Gators on Tuesday at 8 pm CT in Coleman Coliseum (TV: ESPN, Radio: Crimson Tide Sports Network).

The game will be the third for Alabama in just six days, going back to the Tide's overtime loss to Arkansas last Thursday. At 13-6 overall and 3-3 in SEC play, Bama is still in relatively good position for a post season berth. However, this game could be a crossroad-type match up for the Tide.

The Gators are not having their best season in recent memory. They lost most of their starters from last year's Final Four team, and this year is a rebuilding job a best.  Florida is 10-9 overall and 3-3 in conference play. They have lost their last three games (Georgia, LSU and Ole Miss).  Still, this is a program that has recruited well and has some capable playmakers, especially on offense.

Head coach Anthony Grant and team captain Levi Randolph spoke to the media on Monday afternoon about the upcoming game.
