The University of Alabama baseball team placed three of its current players on Baseball America’s 2015 Summer League Top Prospects list, the publication announced this afternoon. Sophomores Tyler Adams and Tyler McMurray along with senior Chance Vincent were all selected as top prospects in their respective summer leagues.

The Texas Collegiate League played host to Adams and Vincent, with Adams playing for the East Texas Pump Jacks all summer and Vincent getting action with the Acadiana Cane Cutters for the last half of the summer season. McMurray spent his time in the Florida Collegiate League with the Altamonte Springs Boom.

Adams wrapped up his summer action with a 1.87 ERA (5 ER/24.0 IP) and 37 total punchouts. The right-hander led the Pump Jacks with 19 total appearances across which he recorded a team-high eight saves. His standout summer earned him an appearance in the Texas League All-Star Game where he would go on to earn the save for the North All-Stars. He finished his offseason play ranked as the eighth-best prospect in the TCL.

Vincent was ranked as the No. 5 prospect in the TCL despite playing in only 25 total games with the Cane Cutters following his time spent recovering from a shoulder injury that he sustained during the regular season with the Crimson Tide. The senior finished his summer batting .394 (39-99) with six doubles, two triples, and 18 runs and RBI apiece. He closed out his season on a 19-game hitting streak across which he was a scorching 37-75 (.493) with 13 multi-hit games during that time. In the playoffs, Vincent batted .500 (6-12) with two doubles, a home run, three RBI and two runs scored in three games played.

McMurray was rated as the 10th-best prospect coming out of the FCL following his time in Altamonte Springs. While in Florida, he put together a 1-1 record across his 15 relief appearances. The sophomore maintained a 2.11 ERA (4 ER/17.0 IP) while striking out 19 total batters. He did not allow more than one run in any of his outings and recorded at least one strikeout in all but four total appearances.

The SEC led all conferences with 38 total players on the lists and 13 of 14 schools represented. Teams that have placed the most players on BA’s summer league lists have generally gone on to successful seasons the following year.
