An active shooter alert was issued Thursday morning on the campus of Mississippi State University in Starkville. 

The first reports of a shooter broke around 10:15 AM.

The authorities in Starkville acted quickly, reportedly apprehending the suspect within 20 minutes of the first alert.

Early reports indicate that there are no injuries on the campus and the school will resume normal operations at 2PM. As expected, the anxiety on campus was extremely during the hour alert.
