Alabama men's basketball struggled on both ends of the court, which led to a 80-48 defeat at Dayton. It was Avery Johnson's first loss at the Crimson Tide's head coach.

The Flyers outscored Alabama 40-24 in both halves despite Alabama running out to an early 18-16 start in the first half. The Crimson Tide was plagued by poor shooting (29.8% from the field, 52.9% from the free throw line) and turnovers (20).

Play-by-play broadcaster Chris Stewart called the midday game from the University of Datyon Arena and shared his thoughts on the outcome.
