With the start of the NFL season just around the corner, we're now getting a look at many of the recently drafted players and how they're progressing with their new teams. Among them is former Tide receiver Amari Cooper, and he has been turning heads ever since leaving Tuscaloosa for Oakland.

One of the most prominent names in NFL lore, Hall of Famer Jerry Rice, showered Cooper in compliments, saying that he is "very much like Tim Brown, very explosive."

Yes, Heisman Trophy winner Tim Brown. Yes, NFL Hall of Famer Tim Brown.

Along with Rice's comments, current Raider receiver Nate Burleson spoke highly of Cooper as well, noting that he will be a break out player in Week 1 versus the Cincinnati Bengals come September 13.

Of course, a great receiver needs a good quarterback to get him the ball, so if Derek Carr continues progressing from last season, we may witness the rise of one of the NFL's greatest franchises, led in part by a Crimson Tide player out wide.
