Twitter shared some data that tracked NFL fans in every county of the United States to find out which NFL team fans were pulling for. It might not surprise you that the majority of Alabama roots for the New Orleans Saints, but there are some very interesting results from the map above.

As you can see, Twitter has broken down every county by the top three NFL teams' fanbases to declare an official allegiance for said county. Here are five things we learned:

1. Despite the Titans and Falcons being closer to more than half of the state, the New Orleans Saints have the most fans in Alabama.

2. It seems like it would go against everything Southerners stand for, but one county in Alabama actually roots for the New England Patriots. Cherokee County in the northeastern (go figure) part of the state is made up of nearly 15% Pats fans. That's disgusting.

3. The NY Jets care the 3rd most popular team in the state by counties, claiming Pickens, Butler and Bullock counties. Maybe the Joe Namath mystique still hasn't worn off?

4. There are as many counties in Alabama that root for the 49ers, Packers, and Jets as there are that pull for the Titans. Even though Tennessee shares a border, only two counties claim allegiance to the Titans. Maybe that organization should start drafting more players from Alabama and Auburn.

5. In a state built around college football, Alabama lacks an identity when it comes to the NFL. 11 different teams, or 34% of NFL franchises, are represented throughout the state. Again, that includes New England. Seriously, what's up with Cherokee County?
