For most Alabama fans, it's a foregone conclusion that every class that Alabama signs is the best possible class it could have signed. However, we all know that the Tide can't sign every single player that they recruit, so which misses were the biggest misses for Nick Saban and company in 2016?

    Gregory Little

    Offensive Tackle

Whatever your opinion is on the recent allegations against Ole Miss athletics, the fact remains the same: they are recruiting at an extremely high level in football. They snagged one of the best players in the country in Little on NSD, meaning they were able to sign him away from Alabama and plenty of other teams. Offensive line depth is key for any team, but the Tide were able to sign a few great O-linemen to make up for missing on Little.

    Jeffery Simmons

    Defensive End

This isn't a huge miss for the Tide as much as it is a miss for Ole Miss, simply because of the depth of the defensive line for Alabama, but losing a recruiting battle of a 5-star to Mississippi State is always a tough pill to swallow. Kudos to Dan Mullen and crew on snagging him, but missing out on one of the top defensive end prospects is never a good thing.

    Devin Duvernay

    Wide Receiver

Alabama is hoping to find a great complimentary player for Calvin Ridley out wide on offense, and Duvernay would have been a nice piece to go with. He isn't a stereotypical receiver when you look at his size, but he is a speed demon who can take the top off any defense. Duvernay signed with Baylor on Wednesday, possibly because he felt his talents could be used more effectively in the Big 12 under Art Briles and company. The Tide only signed one true receiver in the 2016 class (3-star T.J. Simmons), so the coaching staff is most likely confident that they have enough weapons on the outside to make do this upcoming season.
